Typically, our Ohio IOP will consist of at least 9 hours of clinical treatment in the span of 3 to 5 days. The exact length of treatment, however, will ultimately depend on the unique needs of each patient. Their schedule outside of rehab will also be considered.

The entire program should last about 90 days, with as few as 6 hours a week to as many as 30 hours of treatment being dedicated to their care. Being that this program is often used as a transitional step in recovery, a patient should likely have already undergone some other form of prerequisite care, like our medically monitored detox. 

Although 90 days is the common standard of an IOP, the duration will vary depending on the person’s unique needs, personal support systems, and overall mental wellness. For instance, someone who is excelling in their therapy sessions will need less intensive care than someone who either continues to relapse or is resistant to recovery altogether.
