What is Drug & Alcohol Rehab in Fort Lauderdale, FL Like?

What Does the Average Day Look Like While in Rehab?

If you find yourself in a position where drugs or alcohol are dominating the daily functions of your life, it is time to consider going to rehab to address these issues. The trained professionals at the Legacy Healing Center provide you with the support and guidance you need to remove the influence of drugs and alcohol from your life and give you the opportunity to have a healthy existence.

Before you begin your rehab journey, it’s essential that you approach the process with an open mind. The first focus that you should have is to make sure that you begin your stay at rehab drug or alcohol-free. If you are still struggling with active addiction, but know that you want to start recovery as soon as possible, be sure to ask a member of our intake about the possibility of detox.

Detox provides you with a safe environment to go through the withdrawal symptoms that arise after you stop consuming drugs or alcohol. It is never advisable to go through the detox process unless you are under the supervision of a trained medical professional. The majority of people that struggle with addiction often go through a myriad of physical and emotional ramifications when they stop using drugs or alcohol. Examples of these types of symptoms include nausea, shakiness, irritability, and anxiety.  Regardless of your drug or drink of choice, some withdrawal symptoms can be potentially fatal depending on the severity of your addiction which is why we never recommend that you try to go through detox alone.

Once you have gone through detox, you can start formulating a solid plan of recovery with our team. Your recovery plan will include different forms of therapy which will dive headfirst into what caused you to become dependent on drugs or alcohol. While exploring these topics may seem uncomfortable at times, determining the root of your addiction is critical to helping you overcome it.

Your treatment does not only revolve around continuous therapy. During your time at our facility, you will be given the opportunity to take part in different activities or trips which can help you integrate yourself back into living a life outside of rehab.

What Type of Therapy Happens at Rehab?

There are different types of therapy that you will experience during your stay at rehab. The two primary forms of therapy that we base your recovery around are group and one on one therapy. There are numerous advantages of partaking in both types of therapy. If you feel uncomfortable at any point during a session, we encourage you to let one of our counselors know so we can immediately address how you are feeling.

We understand that recovery continues after you leave our rehab facility which is why we developed our Addiction Aftercare program. This program provides you with access to not only therapeutic care, but support groups for both you and your family as well as options for 12-step fellowships.

Group Therapy

One of the best ways to achieve long-term success in our rehab program is to make connections with other people that have gone through similar struggles with addiction. One of the foundations of your stay at our rehab will be attending different types of group therapy sessions throughout the day.

The benefits of group therapy extend past the time that you are done with rehab. It would be unrealistic to assume that you will not have some days that are more difficult than others once you leave rehab. Establishing connections with other people in your groups provides you with a support system that you can reach out to during the hard days. Don’t forget, our team is always here for you, even after you leave our facility.

One on One Therapy

Individualized therapy is a critical component of your overall recovery process. Although group therapy is an important factor, one on one therapy provides you with the opportunity to discuss past traumas or events that could have led to your addiction that you do not feel comfortable discussing in a group setting.

The professionals at Legacy Healing Fort Lauderdale commit themselves to provide every patient with a safe and supportive atmosphere. We take the time to learn more about your personal story so that we can work with you to formulate a treatment plan and supply you with every opportunity for recovery. Our intake specialists are always available to begin the process of enrolling you in our rehab program.
