Lance Bass and Joey Fatone were born in Orlando and would have incredible careers in the music industry. After the members of *NSync went their separate ways, Lance Bass came out as gay and would become a leading voice as a gay activist. In 2014. he would go on to marry his spouse, Michael Turchin. Bass also wrote a book about his life and times with the band entitled “Out of Sync,” which became a New York Times bestseller.

On the other hand, Joey Fatone would go on to be featured in several guest roles and appearances in different reality T.V. shows, including several episodes of different shows on the Food Network and The Masked Singer. Most notably, he participated in the 15th season of Dancing with the Stars. Fatone ultimately married his high school sweetheart in 2004, and they would have two children, with Lance Bass serving as the godfather for each of them.

The name Howie D. made many girls in the 1990s swoon whenever he would open his mouth to sing a lyric. Howie D., also known as Howie Dorough, was part of the Backstreet Boys, which flew to fame along with *NSync in the late 1990s. Although the height of his fame was during this time, the Backstreet Boys are still fairly popular today, making Howie D. a popular celebrity in the area. He has settled down to some extent and got married in 2006 in the Orlando church where he sang as a child.

The Sports World

Florida, specifically the Orlando area, is well-known for being a sports epicenter. There are dozens of professional sports players that once (or currently) call Orlando home. Some of the most notable are:

Paul Wilson

During his impressive career as a pitcher, Paul Wilson played for teams including the New York Mets, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and the Cincinnati Reds. His career in major league baseball spanned from 1996 to 2005, and during that time, he was able to record 619 strikeouts. Unfortunately, Paul Wilson would suffer from a series of injuries that took him out of playing contention.

A.J. Pierzynski is an example of an MLB player that wasn’t born in Orlando but currently calls the city his home. Pierzynski had an impressive nearly 20-year career in the MLB and played seven different teams, including the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, and ultimately retired from the MLB with the Atlanta Braves. He was also part of the World Series champion Chicago White Sox in 2005. Since his retirement, he has served as a Fox analyst for different games and dabbled in professional wrestling.

Jack Hughes

Orlando was also the home of professional National Hockey League player Jack Hughes. Hughes showed incredible skill as a young hockey player and would be part of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He became the first draft pick by the New Jersey Devils and was offered a three-year contract with the team. Hughes scored his first official NHL goal against the New York Rangers, which cemented him as a growing fan favorite. When Hughes is not playing during the regular hockey season, he plays international hockey games and associated events.

Several popular actors also call Orlando home. They include famous people, such as:

Delta Burke

Delta Burke is widely known for her role on the CBS sitcom “Designing Women.” The actress also had a slew of other television roles, including “Delta” and “Boston Legal.” Delta is the proud recipient of multiple Emmy award nominations, and although she has struggled with some personal difficulties, she is still a beloved actress in the Hollywood community.

Wayne Brady has been providing comic relief to people for nearly 30 years. Although he was originally born in Georgia, he currently calls Orlando home. He served as one of the main improvisation comedians on ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ and currently acts as the host of the popular television show “Let’s Make a Deal.” Brady is also known for his impressive singing voice and has released a handful of singles since his singing talents were uncovered.
