Two employees add another whole-person modality to Legacy’s repertoire of drug and alcohol recovery treatments.
Legacy Healing Center has added another treatment modality to its list of treatment options to help those who are on the road to recovery. Legacy believes in the whole-person approach meaning that a person must heal not only physically but also mentally and spiritually as well. Two employees, Alison Trim and Tyler Stewart have become certified hypnotherapists using the Krasner Hypnotherapy Method.

Hypnosis: the science and background behind it
Hypnosis has been proven and accepted by the American Medical Association since 1958. The Florida Board of Certification offers those who complete the hypnotherapy course 14 CEU (continuing education units) as part of their continuing education requirements.
Regarded as a neurological phenomenon, hypnosis or hypnotherapy is a state of “suggestibility” which helps alter the state of someone’s well-being for the better. During hypnosis, a person enters a trance-like state in which they have streamlined attention and concentration on a specific topic. While under hypnosis, a person is more relaxed, which allows them to be more open to suggestions and can help gain control over unwanted behaviors such as addiction. Hypnotherapy can also be used as a coping mechanism to help people deal with high levels of anxiety in stressful situations such as starting an alcohol or drug recovery program.
What is the Krasner Hypnotherapy Method?
The Krasner Hypnotherapy Method was created by Dr. Al Krasner, as a therapeutic tool to aid Milton Erikson, who took hypnotherapy off the stage and made it a form of therapy that has been widely used and accepted in the medical community. Dr. Krasner took his work and made it clinical and was able to establish the American Institute of Hypnotherapy and the Board of Hypnotherapy. The American Board of Hypnotherapy is the standard for which hypnosis is accepted internationally. The method dives into the root habit formation and human conditioning which analyzes human behavior and works to erase negative habits.
