Healing the Root Causes of Addiction With Therapy
Many people mistakenly believe that addiction is a choice. This thinking is entirely inaccurate. Someone may choose to pick up a drink or take a specific substance even though they know it could hurt them or someone around them. They decide to do it anyway for one reason or another. Addiction is a disease that requires professional care and help to overcome. However, when you work with an experienced addiction therapist for Boynton Beach residents, you have an incredible opportunity to change your life and remove the influence of drugs and alcohol from it.

Types of Therapy Used in Addiction Therapy
At Legacy Healing, we believe that you can never take a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment and recovery, which is why we think that it’s imperative that you actively participate in several different forms of therapies throughout your recovery program. During your addiction therapy sessions, you will interact with an addiction therapist and other people working through their treatment program. Here are some examples of therapies that you can expect to experience when you come to our treatment facility:
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Behavioral therapy
- Family therapy
Flexible Options for Addiction Treatment and Therapy
There is a common misconception among many people struggling with addiction that addiction treatment is out of the question because it requires an around-the-clock commitment. While it’s true that you should always put your recovery first and foremost in your life, coming to addiction treatment doesn’t always mean that you will need to live at the facility during that period. At Legacy Healing Center, we allow our clients to personalize their treatment plans so they can make the most out of their time in rehab.
Outpatient Addiction Treatment
We offer different forms of outpatient treatment, so it’s less stressful to fit addiction treatment into your current schedule. An intensive outpatient program is one example of outpatient treatment that you can consider. IOP clients will need to commit to a minimum of nine hours of clinical treatment per week, which makes this option great for clients who may have a part-time job or school responsibilities. If your schedule changes during your time working through your program, just let your treatment team know so they can adjust your schedule.
The other type of outpatient program is our general outpatient program. This treatment plan offers the most flexibility because it only requires one hour of clinical care per week. This means that you can maintain your commitments to your full-time work or school responsibilities. This can help you feel more comfortable focusing on yourself during a specific time throughout the week.
Keep in mind that if you opt to work through an outpatient program, you should always take the time to attend 12-step meetings that are local to your area. These meetings will be similar in many ways to a group therapy session and give you an excellent chance to develop your support system.
