How Long Does Rehab Last For Brooklyn, NY Residents

What Types of Durations Are There?

As addiction experts, the Legacy Healing Center team has a unique understanding that addiction impacts every client differently. This understanding stems from the fact that many of our team members have either personally struggled with addiction or have a close friend or family member who has gone through their own issues with the disease.

Due to this understanding, we realize that every client is different when it comes to their recovery needs. Many clients may benefit from a program that is as short as 30 days, while other clients with a long-standing addiction may do better with a program up to 90 days. This is the leading reason why we offer treatment plans that are 30, 60, or 90-days long.

Benefits of 30, 60, and 90-Day Rehabs

The advantages of working through any type of recovery program are undeniable. Whether you decide to enroll in an inpatient program or personal or professional responsibilities only allow you to enroll in an outpatient program, for a specific timeframe, you are changing the people, places, and things around you that may be triggering your addiction. Making the conscious decision to remove these triggers will go a long way in understanding the factors behind your addiction and cementing your sobriety going forward.

One way that we help you develop a better understanding of your addiction is through therapy. Family therapy, behavioral therapy, and group therapy are all examples of counseling that you will participate in during the course of your treatment. Individual therapy will also play a critical role in your recovery plan. One-on-one counseling will allow you to speak to a member of our team in a personalized setting. We realize that there may be many events in your life that you simply do not feel comfortable talking about in a group environment.

During these sessions, you can begin to go into greater detail regarding the traumatic events in your life that may have triggered your addiction. You can also work on developing a relapse prevention plan and talk about your current recovery plan. Remember, if you would like to extend your recovery plan, we can always speak to you about this during these counseling meetings.

What Happens After Rehab?

One of the leading questions that we get from our clients working through their treatment program revolves around what will happen once they are done. Many clients have the misconception that they will return home and never have the opportunity to connect with our team again. When you come to Legacy Healing in South Florida, this couldn’t be further from the truth. This is just one of the reasons why we developed our Addiction Aftercare program.

Addiction Aftercare gives you the flexibility to maintain a relationship with the Legacy Healing Center team and keep in touch with other clients who have finished their respective programs. Not only do we give you the chance to continue receiving therapeutic support, but we can continue to provide you with guidance regarding your recovery as a whole. Additionally, we organize a variety of events throughout the year that will put you in touch with other Legacy alumni

Sober Friendly Attractions Near Brooklyn

Returning home to Brooklyn after a stay at Legacy is understandably something our clients look forward to. Although you may be excited at the chance of seeing friends, family members, and exploring the sites and sounds of Brooklyn, we always recommend that you first take the time to put together a plan to maintain your sobriety. A good rule of thumb is to locate 12-step meetings in and around your area that you can attend at least once a week. This is an excellent way to reinforce the critical foundation that you began to build at Legacy. Once you feel comfortable, you can start to focus on visiting some of the fun and sober attractions in the Brooklyn area.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

Brooklyn Bridge Park is a top place to visit during the warm summer months. Although it’s open 365 days a year, it does sit alongside the waterfront, which means that it may get colder during the winter. Visitors to this location can bring a picnic and take advantage of the different BBQ areas throughout the park. The park is well lit, so feel free to stroll along the paths at night and enjoy the beautiful New York City skyline.

The Brooklyn area is steeped in history. A notable example of this is the Green-Wood Cemetery. The cemetery was first developed in 1838 and would be added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. Today, this location is filled with beautiful pieces of architecture and monuments that date back to the cemetery’s inception. There are also several notable burials in the cemetery, which include war heroes and political figures.

The Brooklyn Children’s Museum is a wonderful place to visit if you plan to explore Brooklyn with a special little one. The exhibits are specifically designed for younger visitors to play with and touch. It actually has the distinction of being the first children’s museum in the United States. The bright and vibrant colors of the museum are sure to draw young guests’ attention for hours.
