Alcohol Rehab Daytona Beach

What Does Alcohol Rehab Consist Of?

Legacy Healing Center is a comprehensive treatment facility that helps individuals struggling with addiction, and their loved ones, through the process of getting help. Legacy Healing Center offers alcohol rehab for individuals who are struggling with alcohol addiction or abuse. When someone struggling with a substance abuse addiction makes the decision to get help, we are here to help them from the get-go. The first step of alcohol rehab is to evaluate the physical and mental health of the client and then begin treatment by completing a detox program. Alcohol addiction can be dangerous because alcohol, like other substances, causes changes to the brain that makes stopping the use of it difficult. Because of the changes in the brain, when the detox begins, the body will feel withdrawal symptoms that can be severe, which is why it is important to complete this step in one of Legacy’s medically assisted detox programs.

Detoxing from alcohol in one of Legacy Healing’s treatment centers is similar to detoxing from other substances because no matter who is going through detox, they are monitored 24/7 by medical professionals. This is the most important first step in recovery because it gives the body the opportunity to rid itself of its dependence on alcohol. We always recommend completing the detox phase in a treatment center because it gives us the ability to monitor our clients to ensure that they are safe, not experiencing too much pain and comfortable.

Completing a medical detox in a treatment facility allows Legacy staff to treat withdrawal symptoms, making sure that they don’t get too severe. Withdrawal symptoms can be expected within 24 hours of beginning a detox program and tend to intensify for 48-72 hours. After the 72 hour mark, they will lessen but can be felt for up to a week after the 72-hour mark. Allowing the body to cleanse its self of the alcohol in the system makes room for the focus on treatment and behavioral therapies that pave the way for overcoming alcohol use disorder.

Alcohol is one of the most commonly abused substances across the country and is one of the main contributors to death and disease. If you or someone you love is struggling with an addiction to alcohol, Legacy Healing Center is here to help you every step of the way.

Getting To The Root Of Alcohol Addiction

The root cause of addiction can stem from various factors such as development, environment, or biology. Biology is often one of the largest root causes of addiction. While in treatment in Legacy, one of our main focuses is to get to the root of the addiction and treat it. In order to explore this, time will be spent with therapists both in individual and group settings to explore the mind, heal, and grow.

Often times development causes for addiction can come from the use of substances during certain stages in life where developmental changes were going on in the brain, such as when you were young. This shows us that if our client used substances when they were young, they are much more likely to develop a substance addiction with age.

Other causes stem from the environment and environmental causes can come from events and situations that our clients experienced throughout their lives. This can be trauma, exposure to substances throughout life, parental guidance in youth, peer pressure, and more. All of these environmental causes are stressors and stress can also lead to substance abuse.

Legacy Healing Center’s staff is highly trained and experienced in their field. They understand how to take care of their patients and how to help them find their way to recovery. Legacy provides a safe and stable environment while providing the knowledge and comfort of a team to help our clients each and every step of the way.

Overcoming Addiction With Therapy

Inpatient therapy is one of the best ways to overcome an addiction. Each client who enters one of our treatment centers will be given an individualized treatment plan that may recommend a 30, 60, or 90-day stay in our inpatient facility. In order to determine the length of stay and the treatment plan, our client must be evaluated and from our initial evaluation, we can begin working on a plan.

As mentioned, the medical detox is one of the first, and most important, steps on the road to recovery. After our clients have successfully completed the detox program they can then begin their treatment plan. Inpatient treatment programs require that clients stay 24/7 in the treatment facility, working every day to get clean.

Treatment programs in our inpatient facility involve compressive behavioral therapies that teach our clients how to recognize and avoid triggers and how to be ready when they face challenging situations. Inpatient programs also help clients through the 12 steps to sobriety, group therapy, individual therapy, and education related to building skills that can help our clients when they re-enter society and mend relationships with their loved one.

At Legacy Healing Center we make sure to support our clients even after they leave therapy by offering outpatient treatment programs that provide accountability and ensure that the newfound skills are being put to good use. If needed, Legacy also can help individuals in need of housing by providing entrance to community housing as well as continued therapy and 12 step meetings.
