What Do You Do During Rehab?

At Legacy Healing Center we offer a client-centered approach that gives individualized treatment to each and every person that comes through our door. Each rehabilitation program experience is unique, just like every person. At Legacy Healing Center we are leaders in holistic substance abuse treatment with programs that can include medical detox programs, behavioral therapy, coping skills, treatment of co-occurring disorders as well as aftercare programs.

Are you, or someone you love struggling with addiction? Are you unsure of what to expect from a substance abuse program and need guidance? Legacy is here to help through each step of the process, continue reading to learn more about what to expect from a rehabilitation program at Legacy Healing Center.

Upon making the decision to begin a rehabilitation program, the client will be assigned a case manager at Legacy Healing Center that will work closely with the client to ensure they understand what is going on and are on the right track. Clients will be initially evaluated on mental and physical health to get a better understanding of the individual as a whole and the addiction. The initial evaluation process is important because it paves the way for the individualized treatment program for recovery. At Legacy Healing Center, each client that enters a program is provided a unique, individualized treatment plan that fits their specific needs and changes with them.

The first step in treatment is going through a medical detox program. This initial step is difficult, yet extremely important because it gives the body the chance to rid itself of the substances build up and leave the body clean and ready to undergo therapy programs. We say that this step is difficult because this is the period in which the client will feel withdrawal symptoms and the severity and length of symptoms felt will depend greatly on the individual’s overall health as well as their dependence on the substance. At Legacy, our trained staff monitors clients who are going through this program to ensure not only their safety but physical comfort. Often times the medical detox is accompanied by medications that help ease the pain of withdrawal symptoms.

Once the detox has been completed, clients can begin behavioral therapies that are specifically designed to help individuals overcome addiction. Types of therapy differ per individual and treatment program. Therapy is another important part of recovery and is the part in which individuals are able to get to the root of the addiction and learn and being to create changes. At Legacy Healing Center our trained therapists work with each client using various models and therapeutic techniques that may include cognitive behavioral therapy, process therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivation enhancement therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

At Legacy Healing Center we take pride in our holistic approach to treatment, giving out clients a look at their lives and the places where improvements can be made. At Legacy, we offer programs that fit each unique individual and even provide career and wellness follow up programs that help solidify life-long sobriety.

An average day in a treatment facility can differ depending on the individual but overall has a similar schedule. Those who have entered a treatment program will live on-site at one of our recovery facilities in South Florida for the entirety of the program. Programs vary in length depending on the individual and the type of addiction but in general last minimum 30 days, up to 90 days. A typical day in the life at a Legacy Healing Center Inpatient Drug Rehab will look like:

– In the morning you will wake up in your private or shared room

– You will get ready for the day by getting showered and dressed

– Breakfast will be served, all food is prepared by in-house chefs with healthy & quality ingredients

– You will attend therapy sessions or healing programs depending on the individualized treatment plan

– Lunch will be served in the afternoon between therapy or healing sessions

– After therapy and healing sessions have ended, dinner will be served

– After dinner, clients will return to their private or shared room for the night

What Type of Therapy Happens at Rehab?

At Legacy Healing Center we pride ourselves on our different types of treatment programs, as the majority of the time in recovery will be spent in therapy. We offer three types of therapy that can be: one-on-one therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, or family therapy sessions.

 – Group Therapy

Legacy’s group therapy sessions offer patients the ability to learn from others through sharing stories and insight, providing the ability to gain an understanding of what others in similar situations are feeling. Group therapy is one of the more common situations in which individuals share their stories, and this is important because it provides strength to all in the session and helps solidify goals of sobriety.

 – One on One Therapy

Legacy’s one-on-one therapy is a session with the therapist and the client. This session is private and therapeutic, providing clients with a private space where more sensitive conversations can happen, getting to the root of the addiction, and growing from it.

 – Family Therapy

Family therapy at Legacy Healing Center is a unique opportunity to focus on healing the family as a whole. This type of therapy is not often found at treatment centers but at Legacy, we understand that when one person struggles with an addiction, it affects the family as a whole. In these sessions, the family works with a therapist on healing and education.
