Alcohol Rehab Centers for Manhattan Residents

Overcoming an addiction to alcohol is incredibly difficult if you do not have the proper help and support. Alcohol is seemingly everywhere in our society. When you drive down the street, it is not uncommon to see multiple liquor stores within a few square miles. Additionally, you could rarely walk into a restaurant and not have the option to order a mixed drink or beer. With all of these temptations, it’s not surprising why people that have an addiction to alcohol struggle regularly with their disease.

When you come to our alcohol treatment center, you remove yourself from the temptation that tends to plague a person trying to overcome their alcohol addiction. Although you will still need to talk about your addiction and recovery every day, you will begin to learn the tools you need to manage your temptations or cravings once you return home. This exercise is done through different therapeutic techniques and activities.

The Partial Hospitalization Program, also known as PHP, is for clients who are interested in remaining on campus with our team during the duration of their treatment. During your program, you will participate in at least 25 hours of clinical treatment each week. When you are not taking part in treatment, you can join in different activities during your day to reinforce the lessons you are learning at Legacy. We will provide you with a safe and comfortable place to live during the time you are with us, as well as nutritious food and access to any of our facility’s amenities.

If an inpatient program is not possible, we offer two different forms of outpatient programs. The first is our Intensive Outpatient Program, also referred to as IOP. Clients that enroll in this program will take part in at least 9 hours of clinical treatment during the week. However, they will come to Legacy during their scheduled session time.

The other option is our traditional outpatient program. Clients that participate in this option will come to Legacy for at least one hour of weekly treatment. This option is a perfect option for a person that needs to adhere to regular personal and professional responsibilities. Our team will coordinate with you to determine what day and time are best based on your schedule.

Irrespective of which treatment plan you enroll in, you will participate in different therapy types during your treatment plan. The primary forms of therapy that you will take part in include individual therapy, group therapy, family counseling, and behavioral therapy. One-on-one therapy and group therapy will take center stage in your overall treatment plan. Individual counseling entails meeting in a personal setting with one of our counselors to further discuss the events that may have led to your addiction. This talk is also an ideal opportunity to discuss how you feel about your treatment plan and make any adjustments that may be needed.

On the other hand, group therapy gives you the chance to interact and communicate with other clients who are working toward overcoming their own addiction. These sessions are typically guided by a member of the Legacy team and will touch on various topics that are usually associated with recovery or addiction. You will have the chance to share your thoughts and feelings regarding the subject, and then you will listen to the opinions of other people in your group. This form of therapy shows you that you are not alone when you are working through the various aspects of your recovery. Additionally, it can help you begin to develop a system of support that is critical as you continue to build your new and sober existence.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

The cost associated with a treatment program is an understandable concern among clients considering coming to Legacy Healing Center in South Florida. Keep in mind that we work with you to create an addiction treatment plan. Therefore, the cost of each method will likely always be different. The price is dependent on several factors, including the level of care you need and the duration of your program. Legacy Healing Center accepts many major insurance carriers, which may help cover the cost of treatment. If you do not have private insurance, we will work with you to work out a payment plan. We believe that every person that genuinely wants to achieve sobriety and work on their recovery should have the opportunity to do so.

How Does Drug Detox Work?

When you develop an addiction to drugs, your mind and body become used to consuming your drug of choice regularly. If that does not take place, your mind and body begin to go through the withdrawal process. The onset of withdrawal symptoms will significantly depend on the drug. For example, withdrawal symptoms associated with short-acting opioids will typically begin between 8 and 24 hours after the last time you used the drug. In contrast, longer-acting opioids may take anywhere between 2 and 4 days. Benzodiazepine withdrawal symptoms usually take longer to emerge between 1 and 4 days.

One of the confounding aspects of drug detox is that you can never predict exactly which withdrawal symptoms you will experience. Many clients experience more mild symptoms and tend to complain they feel as though they have the flu for a few days. Other clients may experience more severe symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, and excessive sweating. Due to the unpredictability of withdrawal symptoms, we strongly recommend that you never try to detox unless you are under the care of a trained medical professional.

It’s critical to remember that our drug detox program does not take the place of a recovery program. Once you complete detox, we can transition you over into your personalized treatment plan. If you have any questions regarding our detox program, feel free to ask them during your consultation with one of our intake specialists.

How Does Alcohol Detox Work?

Alcohol detox works similarly to drug detox. Within a few hours of the last time you took a drink, your body will begin to crave another one. Once reality begins to set in that your body and mind will no longer get that drink, your body will start to experience withdrawal symptoms similar to those a person detoxing from drugs would go through. Nausea, shakiness, and an increase in anxiety are all examples of withdrawal symptoms. Of course, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that a person may also go through more severe symptoms that could result in a seizure, which is why you must never attempt to withdraw from alcohol unless you are under the care of a medical team.

How Long Is Rehab?

Ultimately, the length of your stay in treatment is up to you. Our recovery plans range between 30, 60, and 90 days. We strongly recommend that you allow a member of our team to make your final decision regarding your plan’s duration because there are several aspects that you should consider.

It’s important to remember that regardless of whether you decide to participate in our inpatient program or one of our outpatient programs, you are putting yourself in a position to change your overall thinking and behaviors regarding addiction and recovery topics. Legacy provides you with a calming environment so that you can genuinely absorb these valuable lessons. But changing people, places, and the environment around you that may have led you down the wrong path, you can refocus on yourself and your health.

In most cases, we will recommend that you take advantage of our 90-day long-term treatment plan if possible. Although there are tremendous benefits to both of our 30 and 60-day programs, our 90-day program gives you an increased chance of achieving life-long sobriety because you have a more extended time to listen to the words and advice of both our team as well as fellow clients. Remember, even if you begin with a 30 or 60-day program, we always give you the flexibility to extend your treatment plan.

Does My Insurance Have Coverage for Rehab?

Within the past few years, major insurance companies have realized that addiction is a severe problem throughout the country. This understanding propelled these companies to expand what they are willing to cover for addiction treatment and care. If you have private insurance, in most cases, your carrier will cover some if not all of your stay at Legacy. It’s essential to find out the specific coverage details associated with your policy, however. For example, some insurance companies will fully cover an inpatient program; however, the company will not cover a detox program. If you need any assistance in narrowing down the details of your coverage, just let us know. We are happy to help you work through any issues to take full advantage of your coverage.
