Therapeutic Options for Margate Residents

A Few Types of Programs at Legacy

As understanding of the disease of addiction continues to develop, alternative methods of treatment are introduced. Gone are the days of repeating the same song and dance and hoping for a different outcome. An individual’s treatment plan should meet them where they are and identify the most effective method to guide them to the desired outcome of sobriety. Legacy Healing Center’s Broward County rehab understands this and has applied this belief to provide a rehabilitation experience that will be unique to each individual that walks through our doors.

Addiction is an incredibly complex condition, which means that a treatment plan must always develop and grow with the patient. To best achieve this, our South Florida addiction centers are equipped with a variety of therapy programs, which all aim to get to the bottom of what caused the addiction, what behaviors and mindsets feed into it, and how sobriety can be effectively maintained once rehab concludes. Below are a few examples of these programs and how they are utilized.

Creative Therapies

Art and music programs are credited for their ability to engage patients while also allowing them to face difficult trauma in a safe environment. Creative therapy is known to improve self-esteem, social skills, and cognitive functions in individuals in the process of recovery.

Hypnotherapy

This tool allows patients to enter a semi-conscious state while under the supervision of a certified hypnotherapist. It is believed that this state can be used to help the patient recall, process, and treat any traumas that could be contributing to their disorder. Hypnotherapy for addiction is an ever-growing medium and an effective option available to our clients.

Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT)

RRT is a method where thoughts of trauma are replaced by intentionally placed pathways designed to reprogram the naturally occurring responses to triggers that may be present. Think of it as a reset button for your brain. The purpose of this is to hopefully resolve negative thoughts typically associated with PTSD, anxiety, and trauma.

Group Therapy

Social support is a crucial part of the recovery process. Addiction can feel incredibly isolating at times, and this method seeks to foster connections between affected individuals. Knowing that others struggle and succeed with similar difficulties can be the catalyst for a patient’s commitment to treatment. Additionally, they form relationships that they can maintain once treatment concludes and then can utilize these as support outside of rehab.

Brain Paint & Vibroacoustic Therapy

Brain painting is a form of neurofeedback therapy that is designed to correct brain function without the need for a brain map. It is a non-invasive option where sensors attached to the scalp will monitor brain activity in response to a series of questions. Detecting the brain’s response to certain stimuli allows patients and staff to understand what parts of the brain may be influencing the condition at hand.

Vibroacoustic therapy, also known as VAT, applies low-frequency sound waves through speakers installed in a special mat or mattress. This auditory experience is credited with helping with anxiety, physical therapy, and pain management, among other benefits.
