Each Level of Treatment

Addiction is not a linear experience and, as such, requires a modicum of flexibility to be treated properly. Addiction treatment facilities will commonly offer a variety of care levels designed to effectively treat patients by evaluating how far into their dependency they have fallen and adapted accordingly. These systems allow clients to adjust gradually to a sober lifestyle while developing relapse prevention skills. At Legacy Healing Center, we recognize the usefulness of these systems and offer a continuum of care that gives our clients the ability to participate in a regimen that aligns with their needs.

What stage of care a patient enters will be determined by a collection of psychiatric, social, and medical assessments conducted by our highly trained staff. These tests give our team a greater understanding of the severity of the addiction in question, as well as any dual diagnoses or unknown medical conditions that may need to be addressed. Below are descriptions of the stages of rehab available and how they can be applied to help our clients achieve and maintain sobriety.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

The next step down in treatment intensity is partial hospitalization or PHP. This is a highly structured program that requires a minimum of 25 hours of clinical treatment a week. It operates 6 days out of the week and provides housing within a comfortable communal setting. Relationship building, evening sessions, and 12-step meetings are a pinnacle of recovery and give clients the opportunity to gain confidence and abstinence in a supportive environment.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our treatment model continues with one of the best IOP programs in Broward County. Getting sober is only one step, but this level seeks to continually treat patients that may not require 24-hour supervision. Therapy services and sober social activities expose clients to peers in the recovery community who understand the challenges of addiction. Patients in the intensive outpatient program will also undergo a minimum of nine hours of clinical treatment a week, in a sense weaning them off of the regularity of the PHP while maintaining a sense of support and consistency.

Outpatient Program (OP)

Residents of and around Margate can access our Legacy outpatient therapy program. This non-residential program is designed for patients that have fully integrated back into their everyday lives in society but still wish to maintain a support system. Clients will have hopefully returned to work and school while having the opportunity to apply what they have learned within our treatment facilities.

Medically Monitored Detox

When consumption of a substance is suddenly stopped, withdrawal symptoms can begin. This is the body’s attempt to readjust itself to regular functions without the presence of the drug and serves as a tell-tale sign of physical dependence. Physical and behavioral symptoms can occur and may range in severity from feeling uncomfortable, to painful, to downright life-threatening.
