Opioid Rehab for Pittsburgh, PA Residents

Opioid Epidemic

The opioid epidemic is an event that continues to take America by storm in all the wrong ways. The opioid epidemic first began in America in the 1990s when the pharmaceutical industry insisted there was little-to-no evidence that opioids would lead to an addiction. The reality of the addictive qualities of opioids is much different, but that realization did not set in until the epidemic was already in full effect.

If you find yourself struggling with an addiction to opioids, the Legacy Healing Center team in South Florida is here to help you overcome that addiction. We work with you to set up a personalized treatment plan that will help you to realize your goals of achieving sobriety and moving on to live a healthier and more successful life.

History of Opioid Addiction

Many people don’t realize that opioids have actually been in existence for thousands of years in some way, shape, or form. Up until the addictive nature of opioids came to light, opioids were actually used for recreational purposes. It wasn’t until the American Civil War in the 1860s that the medical community truly realized that opioids could be used as a way to alleviate pain. Doctors on the battlefield used the drug to aid soldiers and give themselves the time they needed to treat the wounded. Unfortunately, the Civil War doctors unknowingly sent home veterans with an addiction that they did not understand.

How to Detox From Opioids

Before you begin your treatment plan, you must remove any influences of opioids from your system. This process is done by going through a detox program. While you may think that you can detox from opioids without any assistance, it’s imperative that you never try to do so on your own due to the possible deadly withdrawal symptoms. When you come to Legacy Healing, you can always count on our team to care for you around the clock to ensure that you make it through these symptoms, which can make you feel as though you are combating a terrible case of the flu.

What Opioid Rehab Is Like

Although your treatment plan will indeed be individualized, all of our clients will usually participate in the same therapy forms, which will help you address your addiction and overcome it. Examples of the type of therapy you will experience when you come to Legacy Healing include family therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, and behavioral therapy.

When you are not participating in counseling, you will also have access to Legacy’s numerous amenities. Above all, however, the Pittsburgh luxury drug rehab team strives to provide you with an environment of feeling as though you are coming to a home away from home with the hopes that you always feel comfortable while you are here.

How Long Does Rehab Last?

The length of your time at Legacy Healing is dependent on a number of factors. When finalizing your treatment plans, it’s essential that you first consider your personal or professional responsibilities. While we encourage our clients to enroll in our 90-day treatment plan, we understand that that may not always be possible, which is why we also offer 30 and 60-day recovery plans.

Before you decide, we strongly recommend you take the time to speak to a member of our team regarding your options. Remember, you can always choose to extend your treatment plan by merely talking to a member of our team.
