What Is Drug Rehab Like?

This decision will dictate your experience during treatment. For example, if you decide to participate in our inpatient program, you will remain on our campus for a certain number of days.

We do our best to provide you with all of the amenities of home, including a warm place to sleep, food to eat, and a comfortable and stress-free environment. Clients that participate in our outpatient program will come to Legacy on specific days and times for treatment. This option is ideal if someone has already undergone detox and inpatient services and is ready for less structured treatment.

What to Expect

Regardless of your treatment plan, you can expect to participate in different forms of therapy throughout your day and during the course of your treatment. Examples include behavioral counseling, family therapy, and one-on-one therapy. One of the essential types of treatment that you will take part in is group therapy. The premise of group therapy follows the same model as a traditional 12-step meeting. During these sessions, you will discuss different topics associated with addiction and recovery with other clients working through their program.

When you are not taking part in therapy, you will have the chance to enjoy the different activities that we offer at Legacy. For example, are you interested in working out? This venue was built in an old Macy’s warehouse building and quickly developed into a must-see attraction for any person that visits Queens. Visitors can expect to see swirling visual effects that may leave you wondering whether you are walking on the floor or across the ceiling’s span. Considering that the days and hours of operation change daily, you should always call ahead before visiting this site.

Khampa Kitchen

There is no shortage of delicious places to eat in Queens. One of the most popular places to go to is Khampa Kitchen. The chefs that work at this restaurant are from Tibet and have fine-tuned their cooking craft to produce incredible meat pies and noodle soups. One of the unique features of this restaurant is that you need to walk through a jewelry store to enter it. Once you step foot in the restaurant, however, you will be hard-pressed to leave hungry. Khampa Kitchen is open every day except for Wednesdays between 11 AM and 10 PM.

Fountain of the Planet of the Apes

Are you a fan of the sci-fi movie the Planet of the Apes, you should make time to visit the Fountain of the Planet of Apes. This fountain was named after the 1968 film and draws numerous visitors throughout the year. The name for this fountain came as a result of Henry J. Stern being named parks commissioner. Before his appointment, the fountain stood nameless. Stern realized that there was another fountain close by called the Fountain of Planets. Inspired by this name as well as the movie, he dubbed the area with its new name.
