How Long Does Rehab Last for Queens Residents

What Types of Durations Are There?

As addiction specialists, we understand that recovery cannot fit into a one-size-fits-all scenario. With this understanding, our team has developed a myriad of options regarding treatment plans, which includes different durations based on individual client needs. We believe that this results in a higher success rate of achieving long-term sobriety and a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Benefits of 30, 60, and 90-Day Rehabs

Regardless of whether you decide to take part in our 30, 60, or 90-day treatment plan, the leading benefit of any one of our programs is that it helps you break the cycle of addiction. You remove yourself from the people, places, or activities that may lead you to indulge in addiction for a specific period. You will participate in particular forms of therapy that will help you gain a better understanding of what led you down the road of addiction and what you can do to avoid walking down that same path at any point in your life.

The types of therapy that we offer at Legacy revolve around group, individual, behavioral, and family counseling. When you speak to one of our intake specialists, they can provide you with more insight regarding each form of therapy to know precisely what to expect when you come here for treatment. Remember, you may not always feel comfortable during each session, but they do play a unique role in working through your addiction.

What Happens After Rehab?

It’s important to remember that recovery does not end when you leave Legacy Healing Center in South Florida. In fact, it is something that will happen and develop for the rest of your life. With this understanding in mind, our team created the Addiction Aftercare program. This unique program allows you to build a connection with other clients that have gone through their own program at Legacy while still maintaining the option of participating in certain therapeutic or sober friendly activities. Once you get closer to your program’s end, one of our counselors will speak with you more about this plan to help you navigate obstacles after you go home.

This plan should include attending regular 12-step meetings and taking part in individual therapy sessions as needed so that you know you are on the right track when it comes to your recovery. Another helpful step you can take is to visit some of the sober friendly attractions that Queens offers.

If you need some suggestions of places to visit, here are a few recommendations:

Flushing Meadows-Corona Park

In 1964, New York played home to the World’s Fair. This event was huge back in the 20th century. While World’s Fairs do not occur in today’s generation, it does not mean that what used to happen is forgotten. The Flushing Meadow-Corona Park is home to some of the remnants of two of the World’s Fairs that took place in the area and a 12-story globe and a pavilion that is shaped in the form of a UFO. Visitors to this park can walk freely around the grounds nearly any time of day throughout the year.

The Flushing Meadows-Corona Park is located in Kennedy Circle, Queens, New York 11358.

Louis Armstrong House

If you love jazz music, a trip to the Louis Armstrong House should not be missed. The name Louis Armstrong is synonymous with jazz royalty. What many people don’t realize, however, is the fact that Louis Armstrong lived in Queens with his wife as he was developing his music career. Today, the home is a living monument to his life. Many of the house rooms are preserved in such a way that represents how they looked when he lived in the house. The times and days that the museum is open vary, so you should check ahead before you plan a trip to this site.

You can visit the Louis Armstrong House at 34-56 107th Street, Queens, New York 11368.

Kitty Genovese Residence

The murder of Kitty Genovese in 1964 shook the borough of Queens to the core. Kitty Genovese, a young woman, working at a bar, was killed on March 13, 1964. It is a crime that took the nation by storm simply because criminology’s common strategies could never solve it. Although several people supposedly heard her crime for help, a suspect was never convicted of the crime. Today, passersby can visit the same site where she died and take part in the murder history.

The Kitty Genovese Residence is located at 8270 Austin Street, Queens, New York 11358.
