What Does the Average Day Look Like While in Rehab?

One of the reasons why our clients turn to Legacy for assistance with addiction is because we work with each person to create a unique treatment plan, which means that your program may look different from another client. Regardless of which treatment plan you choose, you will still participate in various forms of therapy and other activities to help you embrace your new sober way of living.

What Type of Therapy Happens at Rehab?

During the course of your treatment, you will take part in different types of counseling, including group therapy, one-on-one therapy, family therapy, and behavioral therapy. Each form of treatment provides its own unique benefit in your recovery. For example, if the relationships with individual family members have suffered from your addiction, family therapy can help you begin to mend those relationships. Of course, if you ever have concerns about a particular session, we recommend that you speak to our team members right away.

Group Therapy

Group therapy will play a leading role in your overall recovery. During these guided sessions, you will have the chance to interact with other clients that are also receiving treatment at Legacy. Topics associated with this type of therapy will be focused on addiction, what you can do to overcome your addiction, and what may have led you down the path of addiction. Participating in this type of therapy will help you build connections with other clients, which can form a support system that will stay with you once you leave Legacy.

One-on-One Therapy

Individual therapy is a perfect way to speak to one of our counselors in a more personalized setting. Understandably, you may not feel comfortable talking about different aspects of your life in a group setting when you initially come to treatment. This example is especially true if you have experienced trauma or occurrence in your life that was emotionally painful. During your individual therapy sessions, you can explore how these events affected you and led you toward addiction. Additionally, during these meetings, you can connect with a team member to ensure you feel comfortable with how your treatment progresses. If you feel like any changes need to be made, those options can be discussed during this time.
